Many women have helped shape the state of Queensland. This kit explores some of those women such as Quentin Bryce, Anna Bligh and Emma Miller, and their contribution to society. Artefacts incldue Australai’s constitution, t-shirt and hat pin amongst others. Curriculum support materials focusing on Parliament and Government in Queensland are also provided.

This kit enables learners to examine the features of Marine Turtles, including internal and external structures and life cycles. Learners can investigate the needs of living things in a marine environment. The kit comprises a range of marine turtle species: Green, Hawksbill, Flatback, and Loggerhead turtle specimens and casts (including eggs, bones and carapaces), with books and posters.

Australia: Post and Communication

Available Term 3 (Mon 12 July - Fri 17 Sept 2010)

Explore the effects of changes and continuities and develop understandings about people and resources involved in the delivery of postal services. Investigate how innovations in transport and communication technologies have changed Queensland communities. The kit includes historical writing equipment including ink well and nib pens, postcards and greeting cards, scales, pre-decimal currency, and modes of delivery from horse to motor vehicles. The kit also contains classroom activities developed by Australia Post for P-3 and for 4-7 learners.
